The best and most efficient way to maintain your Land Rover’s performance and appearance is to have your vehicle go through a routine repair & maintenance schedule. This allows our ASE Certified technicians to properly monitor your vehicle’s condition and determine when it may need its next service. But although our services help, they are only one piece of the puzzle. Your Land Rover requires consistent inspections by you as well, to ensure nothing goes wrong in between services. Not sure what you can do? Here are a couple suggestions from the Carmine’s Import Service team!
An Achilles heel of the Land Rover brand is the suspension system, as many of their vehicles typically struggle with the air suspension. Because of this, it’s important that you do a visual inspection of your vehicle once every month. How high is it sitting from the ground? Is it sagging to one side? Do the tires have uneven tire wear? All of these symptoms are signs of a failing suspension system and you should take action the moment you see them.
Just like most vehicles, it’s important to inspect the motor oil once a month. This is especially important for Land Rovers, as they tend to have issues with oil leaks. When inspecting your oil, pay attention to its level and quality. For the level, you want it to be right at or just below the top mark. If it’s in the middle or even at the minimum level, your vehicle will require more oil. Also take the time to inspect below your vehicle and the components around its housing, as this will give you an indication for an oil leak if there is one.
As for the quality, you typically want the oil to take on a clear, amber appearance. If the oil looks dark, dirty, and gritty, the oil will need to be changed!
