How To Test For Misalignment
Unlike other parts and systems that provide clear signs that something is wrong, it can be difficult to know when your BMW is suffering from wheel misalignment. The problem can start as subtle, and vehicle owners can drive for miles without knowing something is wrong. This can cause significant damage over time, so it’s important to know when your car is suffering. Not sure what to do? Well, the team at Carmine’s Import Service is here to help. If you suspect misalignment in your BMW, here’s what you can do:
Empty Parking Lot
If you suspect misalignment issues within your vehicle, one of the easiest ways to determine it is to drive out to an empty parking lot and test it. While driving slowly and with the steering wheel straight, see how the car responds. Is it drifting one way or another? Or is it driving straight? If it’s the latter, your car is good to go! If it’s the former, then your BMW is suffering from misalignment and you should have the suspension realigned as soon as possible.
Tip — When testing, make sure you’re at a parking lot or area with an even surface, as any slopes or bumps could alter your car’s ability to drive straight.
