Audi Service & Wheel Alignment in Winston-Salem, NC
Protection for Audi Performance
At Carmine’s Import Service, we think the more Audi owners understand about vehicle maintenance, the more likely they are to keep up with a regular maintenance schedule. We know wheel alignment is one of the services that most owners have heard of but may not quite understand how it affects your vehicle’s performance. The two main concerns with wheel alignment are safety and performance. How your tires interact with the road directly affects the traction you have when you speed up and how efficiently you can stop when you engage the brakes. If you have noticed a decline in the amount of control you have over your vehicle while maneuvering, this may indicate a wheel alignment problem. Call our shop today at 336-993-5506 to make an appointment with one of our ASE-certified technicians to discuss your Audi performance concerns.

What Wheel Alignment Involves
Unless you’ve been in a collision, any changes in wheel alignment will be very gradual so that you barely notice. Over time, you may find that maneuvering at slower speeds is more difficult. Or you might notice signs of uneven wear on your tires. At Carmine’s Import Service in Kernersville, North Carolina, our technicians are trained to look at your wheels for three specific alignments: camber, toe, and caster. The camber is the tire’s angle or tilt if you look from the front of the vehicle. Toe is the degree that the tires rest either inward or outward if you are seeing them from a bird’s eye view. Caster is the angle of the steering axis when viewed from the side. Correcting these angles makes sure your tires have solid contact with the road and work together smoothly.
Driving With Poor Alignment
If you’ve ever stepped on the wrong side of your foot and gotten off-balance, you’ve experienced something like driving on poorly aligned wheels. The sides of your feet aren’t meant to take the force of walking, and it isn’t the most comfortable to walk that way either. Properly aligned tires contact the road at the center of the tire tread for as much grip as possible, like walking on the soles of your feet. Misaligned tires may cause that center to shift slightly to either side and then you’re driving on your tire’s less reinforced area. This can cause uneven tread wear, your vehicle may begin pulling to the right or left, and your steering will start to feel less responsive or even begin to cause vibrations. If you experience any of these issues, contact Carmine’s Import Service immediately, and we can make an appointment with one of our factory-trained technicians to improve your vehicle’s performance. You can find us at 318 W Mountain Street. We look forward to hearing from you!
